Privacy Policy

OmniCast Weather uses your weather location, notification preferences, and app settings to provide forecasts, radar, charts, widgets, optional weather alerts, and optional AI-written forecast reports.

Information We Use

• Location: used to request forecasts, radar, alerts, and widgets for the places you choose. If you allow current location access, iOS provides that location to the app.
• Notification token: used only to send weather alerts and forecast reports you enable.
• Notification preferences: used to decide which alerts and reports to send and which thresholds or schedule to apply.
• App settings: stored on your device and, for shared app/widget settings, in the app group container.
• Smart Forecast cache: model-weight data may be cached by approximate latitude and longitude to improve forecast quality.
• Forecast report content: if you enable a daily or weekly forecast report, weather data derived from your selected location (not your raw location) is sent to Anthropic and/or Google to generate that report's text.
• Installation identifier: a random identifier generated on your device (not tied to any account) is used to look up your own device's notification registration for support purposes.
• Purchases: OmniCast Pro (subscription) and Tip Jar purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit; OmniCast Weather does not receive payment card details.

Information We Do Not Sell

OmniCast Weather does not sell personal information and does not use third-party advertising trackers.

Service Providers

OmniCast Weather uses forecast, infrastructure, and AI services to operate the app, including Open-Meteo, NOAA, the Iowa Environmental Mesonet (Iowa State University, live radar tiles), Apple services, Supabase, Anthropic, and Google (Gemini, used as a fallback for report generation).

Data Retention

Notification event logs are retained for operational monitoring and are pruned automatically. Device tokens may be kept while alerts or reports are enabled. Smart Forecast cache and forecast report caches expire automatically.

Subscriptions

OmniCast Pro is an auto-renewing subscription purchased and managed through your Apple ID, subject to Apple's standard End User License Agreement. What's included in OmniCast Pro may change over time as we develop the app; this policy, not a fixed feature list, governs how any data involved is handled. Where a change is material, we'll do our best to let subscribers know.

Your Choices

You can disable location access in iOS Settings, manage notification permissions in iOS Settings, and change alert and report preferences inside OmniCast Weather. You can contact support to request help with privacy questions or data deletion.
